The Pianist Yann Porée Lindatar brings us a concept album that is mostly based on classical themes. It leads you through fantasy landscapes and is quite cinematic. It marks excellent skills of mainly piano but does not avoid the use of plenty synths as well. The compositions he made are well spun out and give you the impression of the high level this man develops his music. All the tracks are subdivided in parts which makes it more classical. The narrating in the introduction (L'Ultime Attente Ouverture) wasn't necessary in my opinion. The French language does not really appeal to me. The third track Ave Maria Lux Fiat Partie 2 slightly reminds me of the Full Circle soundtrack made by Colin Towns. The chanting in Ave Mathis Le Rayon De Soleil Inattendu Partie 1 is not in its place in my opinion. And if you listen further the music is continuously trying to pull you in to a story. It isn't succeeding in my opinion. The longer you listen to it, your mind is demanding pictures with it. Although the music keeps its high standard it doesn't keep my attention. The chanting repeats at the end of Ave Mathis Le Rayon De Soleil Inattendu Partie 3 started me. Or better, it irritated me. The final track turns to the (prog) rock side. And the guitar sound is rather welcome after a slight overdose of pianos. This music would be great under a well-produced manga/anime movie from the Ghibli studios. But to listen to in an old fashioned way with a cigar and a nice glass of Scottish Malt, leaning back in a darkened room it'll lose your attention.
