White Highway are a Polish rock band founded in 2013, consisting of five members of which the blond Kasia Bienkowska (a younger version of Doro????) is the female vocalist. This debut album contains ten tracks and I would describe them as glam metal rock from the eighties with some modern rock characteristics. So why the hell am I reviewing this album for a progressive rock website??? On a couple of Polish websites White Highway are compared to bands like Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Giant and Vixen, but to be quiet honest I do not hear it... To me Hittin' The Road is just a mediocre rock album with nothing special or extraordinary whatsoever. In fact I would daresay that this album is a rock cliché in more than one way, namely: the name of the band, the title of the album, the song titles ( for example: I Wanna Rock Your Love or Hit The Road Again). The compositions all have the same build up and last but not least the rather childish cover..... Besides that, I really do not like the utterly boring, middle of the road vocals of Bienkowska, so this is an album that will never find its way into my CD player again.
