Re:creation is the third album of the German band Welcome Inside The Brain and the sound of their music can be best described as a mix of progressive and psychedelic rock with influences from bands like Cream and The Doors.

The opening track is called Greedy Critter and this one is already one of the highlights of this album, featuring a marvellous guitar solo by Georg Spiess. The Hammond organ, played by Lennart Jahn, is very present giving the sound of this band a kind of retro feeling of the seventies; just listen to Uncle Timothy and you will catch my drift. The final song The Vacancy is the second highlight and again this one is remarkably diverse, featuring again some great guitar work by Spiess, making The Vacancy a true progressive rock highlight. The other songs display musical elements of art rock and retro prog rock in the veins of The Pineapple Thief and Spock's Beard and are really worthwhile checking out! Singer Frank Muhlenberg has a clear and distinctive voice which is maybe something you need to get used to, but Welcome Inside The Brain definitely have a sound of their own; so if you like vintage psychedelic prog music then you must give Re:creation a chance for sure. Listening tip: Greedy Critter.
