Tritop is an Italian prog rock/classic prog band with a modern touch and Tritop 120 is their new self-released CD, featuring four new songs. Tritop debuted with an album called Rise Of Kassandra (see review) in 2023 and a couple of reviews were rather good indeed. This four track CD kicks off with a short evocative piece titled Rebuild Nothing, featuring wonderful guitar arpeggios galore, while the follow up song Master Of Drama - clocking in over thirteen minutes - is a prog rock rollercoaster with complex changes in tempo, wonderful guitar and keyboards textures and a few amazing instrumental explorations; making this track an outstanding heavy modern prog track indeed. Wanderlust starts with an emotional piano intro before it evolves into a great prog metal track with expressive vocals that give this track that certain extra! Finally, Tritop, plays the centrepiece of this CD called Asymmetrical Reflections Of A Restless Heart (what a f... formidable title by the way), a true prog rock/metal "monster," clocking in over twenty-three minutes, the listener is in for a treat for sure. This is heavy prog, combined with symphonic rock elements and especially the rhythms on this track are really intriguing and intricate. The female choir voices in this song add another musical dimension to this hugely impressive song, but you must listen to this epic more than once to fully appreciate it!
