The setlist of this concert in Stockholm is almost the same as the one I heard on 6 June 2025 in Tilburg (see review), when The Flower Kings played with Neal Morse And The Resonance. So, you can enjoy six tracks that were also played in Tilburg and one "new" track on the setlist, being Desolate. Highlights here are of course the longer songs, like The Elder, featuring dreamlike piano passages, emotional and heartfelt guitar solos and even some intricate jazzy undertones. Last Minute On Earth, an oldie from the Rainmaker album (2001), is another wonderful track, just like the opening song of this album We Claim The Moon, also the opening track of The Flower Kings' last album called Love (2025, see review). The gig ends with an extended version of The Dream, a song from the Look At You Know album (2023, see review) and here Roine Stolt delivers a wonderful, emotional guitar solo, proving once more that Stolt belongs to the top of prog guitar players indeed. If you have not been to the Across Europe Tour of The Flower Kings then this album is a real treat, if you have been to one of the gigs, like I did, then it is a great memory of a wonderful concert indeed. ***+ Martien Koolen (edited by Dave Smith) Where to buy? |
