Bandcamp info. "Matt Goodluck from Australia crafts melodic ambient soundscapes rooted in the spirit of 70s and 80s synthesizer pioneers. Drawing from the cinematic worlds of Tangerine Dream, Eno, Carpenter and Vangelis his music blends analogue textures with introspective, atmospheric depth. On this new album entitled Portals (after his debut album Inner Cosmos from 2024) Matt Goodluck returns with a more structured, rhythm-driven approach, blending progressive synth work with cinematic sound design and rich, melodic textures. Spanning 11 tracks Portals features collaborations with several South Australian musicians, including a serene co-write with Chapman Stick player Andy Salvanos (Synergy), fluid fretless bass from Mark Franco and standout guitar contributions from Max Lopresto and Rob McDade."

Most of the 11 tracks are pleasant ambient sonic landscapes featuring soaring strings, subtle sequencing and spacey synthesizer flights, at some moments blended with samples. March Of Fate contains tender acoustic guitar, Departure soft bass play and Visions percussive sounds.

The most interesting and dynamic composition is Shifting Sands. First a slow rhythm featuring soaring strings, a tight beat and sensitive electric guitar runs. Then the distinctive sequencer joins, blended with distorted guitar, evoking Tangerine Dream. Halfway an accallaration, with pleasant interplay between the synthesizer and guitar. The final part contains harder-edged, slightly distorted guitar.

If you are up to tastefully arranged ambient electronic music this is a fine discovery.
