The Creation, the sixth album of the Bulgarian band Intelligent Music Project again features a lot of well-known musicians. For instance: Lead singers Ronnie Romero (Rainbow) and John Payne (Asia). And drummers Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Black Sabbath) and Todd Sucherman (Styx).
The twelve new songs are all examples of excellent (hard) rock songs mixed with AOR and Toto influences. Also noticeable is the fact that the guitar is more dominant on The Creation than on the previous album. Opening track, A Sense Of Progress features a nice riff and follow up The Story is probably one of the best songs on the album mainly due to the excellent instrumental ending of guitar and piano. The two ballads on the album (Listen and Let It Go) are unfortunately the most tedious ones of the album as they are rather dull and totally predictable..... Lyrically, this new album “talks” about the fear, the inner signals, voices, and the techniques to cope with every day life's challenges, in other words, the texts/lyrics are about the status of an empathetic witness of your own life...
Musically I prefer their previous album which was more diverse and technically more interesting and experimental, but The Creation is still a good listen for lovers of melodic rock with outstanding vocal performances.
