Elements was the second studio album of the Swiss prog rock band Flame Dream, and it was originally released way back in 1980. Now forty-five years later this album is re-released and re-mastered for die-hard fans of Flame Dream. On this second album the Swiss prog rockers took their inspiration from notorious bands like Genesis and Yes and that is of course not the worst inspiration source, right? However, as Flame Dream has no guitarist, this album is truly dominated by keyboards and synthesizers, making it extremely hard for me, being a guitar addict, to listen to indeed. Furthermore, I truly find the vocals not exactly outstanding, as I would rather call them sometimes boring and dull, without any variety. The horns however give the sound of Flame Dream another dimension, but overall, I need to say that this album sounds really dated, as it is of course forty-five years old!
