Factory Of Art - not a great name for a band by the way... - is a progressive power metal band hailing from Leipzig. In 2019 the band got together with a new line-up, and they recorded their third album called Back To Life, featuring ten brand new tracks. Factory Of Art play a conventional style of progressive power metal in the veins of bands like Conception, Manticore and Mind's Odyssey. The album opens with Abysses and has a spoken words' introduction, followed by furious guitar arpeggios which evolve into a fine melodic heavy metal track, and I feel that the impressive guitar riffs will stay with the listeners long after the song has finished. Follow up Burning Wings almost continues in the same vein, meaning lots of hard melodic riffs in mid-tempo, but unfortunately this song also features a couple of horrible growls by guest Brúllonkel Patrick Franken, ruining this one . The longest track of the album, Silent Room, is definitely NOT silent as it is the heaviest track of Back To Life with killer guitar riffs galore, making this one a really cool song to keep on banging your head for more than seven minutes! Decadence is the most progressive rock track of the album, featuring galloping guitars, great melodies, lots of variety and a nice vocal duet between Stephanie Brill and Jens Schmikale. The Truth and Behind The Lights are both fast-paced power metal songs, while finally the title track is surely one of the best songs of the album as it is a 100% power metal classic song. Back To Life is a great "comeback" album and a must for fans of power metal; indeed, so play it LOUD and enjoy!! *** Martien Koolen (edited by Tracy van Os van den Abeelen) Where to buy? |
