Cole Robinson is a musician from the USA. He released with Space Helmet an instrumental EP. He describes his music as Funk N Roll Odyssey or Chainsaw Soul Prog. According to his Instagram page it is the best music he has made so far! Well let me tell you if he is right!

The EP only contains four short instrumentals. On which most of all the electric guitar is the most important instrument. However on the title track you can hear a nice organ solo which was done by Justin Dodge. Most of the tracks are up tempo and have a rock and roll rhythm except for Sweep Me Up on which a kind of reggae rhythm is notable. And the final tune on this release, At Dawn, is more laid back compared to the other compositions.

All in all is this a nice first encounter with this musician. The songs are certainly interesting for people who like to hear progressive rock on a daily basis. However the only problem is that this EP is way too short. With only 17 minutes on the counter it not enough to get a full impression of what Cole is capable of music wise. Maybe it would have been better to have waited a little bit longer to have an EP released with at least a half hour of music on it. But for now I can tell that the future might look bright if he would continue releasing this kind of music.
