Pinski is a band from Germany that debut with this album. The band consists of the female singer Insa Reichwein, who also plays the acoustic guitar, Ian Alexander Griffiths who plays the electric guitar and is responsible for the background vocals, Christopher Streidt who plays bass and is also responsible for the backbground vocals and Stephan Schope, the drummer.

To tell you the conclusion directly, so that the tension is gone, this is a FANTASTIC album!!

Why? Because Pinski has a stellar female singer in Insa, she has a golden throat, what an incredible power she has in her voice, wow... but she not only has power, she can also sing really emotionally and everything that is in between. The other members, Griffiths, Streidt and Schope also know how to play their instruments. Everybody gets his spotlights now and then, it feels exactly the right way.

How is the music, I hear you asking? Well, the music is not that complicated over all, but that is not necessary at all. We are used to progressive rock music in which a lot happens, much tempo changes, things you never heard before or things that absolutely stand out. Pinski has nothing of the before mentioned'prog' things, not really. If I have to connect one word to their music, it will simply be ROCK, and that is exactly what the music does. It rocks, has critical lyrics, there is a lot of emotion and there is a lot of variety, but still, everything can be traced back to the term ROCK, ROCK and another time ROCK.

In the opening track Ugly Side Insa spits the lyrics over you, while you are headbanging on the powerful music. It is deliciously up tempo. Before you know, the song is over yet and Sound The Alarm starts, also with critical lyrics that you absorb because of the way Insa presents them to you, very ingenious. Butterflies starts a bit more quietly and also in this song the lyrics are important, as is the way she is singing, it made me emotional! In III it is up to Ian with his very heavy guitar riffs, really really heavy. A lovely bassline is interwoven in the song. In Humanity the theme is how we deal with our world, halfway there is a beautiful guitar solo and you hear the hard hitting on the cymbals that makes you awake and aware, great! Letter Of Regret has beautiful, dragging guitar work, as well as a great rhythm section. The song ends abruptly. There is a lovely bass solo in Stay Alive and Insa really sounds the alarm in this song. Society is stubborn, unpredictable which way it goes and has threatening lyrics. At the end everything comes together, heavy guitars and aggressive drums, fantastic. Light Calling is a real nice ending of the album because of the hopeful way Insa is singing.

Well, what else can I say about this album? At the first side I will write a lot more to convince you, at the other side I will not do that. Please, do yourself a favor and buy this album, you won't regret it. For me it is one of the best releases of this year so far!!!!!
